(a) the details of the organizations involved in the study of atmosphere;  (b) whether there is any system for establishing co-ordination between the organizations involved in the study of atmosphere; and  (c) if so the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE, MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES & PENSIONS, MINISTRY OF PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS , MINISTRY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY AND MINISTRY OF EARTH SCIENCES (SHRI PRITHVIRAJ CHAVAN):  (a) The following Centres and Units of Department of Space (DOS) are involved in study of atmospheric sciences:  (i) National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Gadanki near Tirupati (ii) Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad (iii) Space Physics Laboratory (SPL), Thiruvananthapuram (iv) Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad (v) National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad and (vi) North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Shillong.  In addition, ISRO also has been sponsoring studies addressing atmospheric science at selected institutions in the country.  (b)&(c) The studies in atmospheric sciences are coordinated through (i) the Scientific Advisory Committee of NARL, (ii) Standing Committee on Ocean Resources and Meteorology under the National Natural Resource Management Systems and (iii) Atmospheric Science Programme Office at ISRO HQ, Bangalore.
